ABOUT THE BANNER IMAGE
"So Much Water, So Little Time"
A scene like this whispers relaxation. So, why was I on the verge of exhaustion when I snapped this photo?

Everyone has his or her own personal reasons for gravitating towards the water. Mine on that weekend---and it used to be a regular practice before I negligently allowed ‘things’ to get in my way---was to surround myself with one of this physical world’s most serene substances and allow it to slow down my life’s pace just long enough to conjure meditative thoughts.

Although...with as many times as I relocated from the coolness of the pool to the warmth of the ocean waves, then back again, I’m not sure what had time to cross my mind. But, I do remember getting some writing done.

I've created a page on Facebook that chronicles my writing exploits. "Like" me, and you can follow what I'm up to.

New Market for two short stories (December 27, 2011)
My science fiction short stories, "Exhaust" and "Beyond the Conscious Breath," are now for sale on Amazon.com!

And, to celebrate, I gave "Beyond the Conscious Breath" a brand new cover!

Artists cannot have enough outlets for their works, and Amazon.com will give me the largest outlet I've had so far.

"The Demon You Know" - Best Title (April 12, 2011)
At the last minute, I chose to enter the intro to my upcoming science fiction short story, "The Demon You Know," into one of the Hatrack River board's "First 13" contest. The final votes were tabulated today, and my story walked away with first place in the Best Title category. As happy as that might make me, I'm more psyched about all the great feedback my story's intro received from my fellow writers. Now, it's time to get it ready for market. Thanx to all my fellow Hatrackers for their thoughtful critiques.

"Beyond the Conscious Breath" - PUBLISHED! (March 19, 2011)
Bloppta-glokk had the disturbing ability of experiencing waking visions that reveal what someone else sees just before they die. The Renndigan Decision Elite knew theirs wasn’t the only species that possessed this ability, and they wanted to use it as a military advantage; it was just a matter of manipulating the last thing the deceased saw. And Bloppta-glokk would be their test subject.

My latest story on the digital bookshelf is "Beyond the Conscious Breath."

This story made its public debut as an Honorable Mention winner in the Writers of the Future contest (2008, 3rd quarter). I regret to inform myself that I've done practically nothing with it until just recently, but I made up for all that lost time by getting it posted on Smashwords.

"Exhaust" - PUBLISHED! (January 30, 2011)
Deeseus Tork discovered a far more nefarious use for pollution than merely destroying one’s own planet. It was profitable, too.

The honor of being my first professional publication goes to "Exhaust."

This story made its public debut as an Honorable Mention winner in the Writers of the Future contest (2010, 1st quarter). Now, it resides within the Smashwords book list, and fairly soon it will be available in several other catalogs.

As a side benefit to this project...I'm now addicted to maiking my own book covers!

The Versatile Blogger Award! - August 22, 2010
I received a very cool honor today! Fellow ascending writer, Ann Lynn, awarded me with the The Versatile Blogger award. Ann was also kind enough to give Bloggathah props on its uniqueness.

Ann's blog site, Shadows in Mind, is already on my 'required reading' list, and I invite you to check it out. While you're there, find out what other writers received the Versatile Blogger Award.

Honored AGAIN! - March 18, 2010
The final list of Honorable Mention winners for the L. Ron Hubbard's Writers of the Future contest (First Quarter 2010) was released today, and my name is on it.

"Exhaust" is a science fiction short story about a more nefarious use of pollution than simply destroying one's own planet.

This is my second consecutive Honorable Mention from the Writers of the Future contest. It might not seem like much of an honor for some people, but I know some of the writers I went up against, and to get any regognition at all while amongst them is a worthy accomplishment. I feel encouraged to compete again.

The 111th New York Volunteer Infantry
My brother, Martin, has written a book spotlighting the 111th New York Volunteer Infantry unit during their action in the American Civil War. Granted, his efforts took much longer than the war itself, but the finished product is finally available! Check it out at the McFarland web site!

Interview with Todd McCollum - Team 510 Racing
I've been working as Todd's web lord for three seasons, so we've naturally talked quite a bit about racing during this time. This interview is a mere snapshot of our conversations. I can't imagine anyone would be interested in our business discussions, so I only asked him racing questions.
